Why don't you deserve to love again? Second chances are God's way of saying get back up, brush yourself off, and keep moving forward. If the God of this universe who created all things still has a great plan for your life despite the bumps and the potholes you hit, then why don't you take Him up on it?
I think it would be quite awful to know that what we all have been through was a permanent event. I mean just take a moment and think about your biggest faith test. Now imagine that God decided not only will He not help you, but He would not give you a second chance. Whoa, that's a big mental block within itself for me, and I know for you as well knowing that God only gave one chance. Of course that is NOT our faithful God, and He has started a great work in you that He will finish.
Often times I hear people that have encountered some big challenges in their life tell everybody else that they have moved on, but their actions, words, and deeds indicate otherwise. Talking to them for five minutes overwhelms you with what they have been through, and who they went through it with. I must admit even I kindly smile along with other people out of respect, because we all can clearly see that even though this person says they have moved on, they are actually still stuck in what use to be. You cannot stay stuck in yesterday and continue to serve God to the fullest.
If God is giving second chances in life, then He will give you a second chance at love if you allow Him. You cannot say in your head that yeah you want a second chance at love, and your heart says otherwise. The Bible tells us that man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). God is not going to go against your free will.
At the end of the day, if you continue to build a pedestal out of the life you use to have, then God cannot make all things new again for you. Don't miss your second opportunity at love. Don't just tell your head you want a second chance, but confess your desire for a second chance to God and your heart will follow. Finding love again does not just happen, you have to be actively available for love and willing to have your desires line up with God's desires for your life. You will never find the person God may be trying to point out to you if you are looking backwards. We serve a forward movement God!
