I know plenty of families that have successfully blended, but not without some major life tests. Blending families take time, and you have to exercise some extreme patience in these situations. Not only will your future marriage be new and growing, but you will also be immediately dealing with parenting together , co-parenting with the other biological parent, in-laws who maybe opinionated, and your future spouse's children that you have to grow to love as though they are your own.
Now that you are currently single, it's an ideal time to determine how you would feel if your future wife or husband shows up with children of their own. The Bible tells us to "think on these things..." Of course, understanding the true meaning of how to love your future husband or wife like Christ loves the church is something you can begin to work on now as you allow God to divinely connect you to your future spouse. When families blend, Jesus has to be the standard on all fronts for it to work. You and your future spouse will need to be connected to the vine of Christ to produce fruit in your blended family, so that this fruit will remain through the years to come. Never forget that Jesus has to be in the blending!!!!
