Where do I start? Preschoolers are at an age where just about everything they do is still super cute. and they tend to be more functional than in their infant stage. Their independence serves to be both a blessing and a curse if I may say so. As a blessing, you don't have to lug around all the baby gadgets which puts a double burden on a single parent. Because your preschooler is walking, running, talking, and listening to everything, you have to be extra careful of what you say and do. Their energy levels are also on a 10+ scale, and it makes even going to sleep a little more difficult for a single parent. When you sleep and they are awake, they experiment with all sorts of things. Single parenting a preschooler may move you to Stage 2 independence, but other factors can sometimes keep you from appreciating your infant/toddler stage graduation. If you are feeling frustrated at your preschooler who is now more energetic, take a moment to breathe. It may not feel like it right now, but you will get through it, because the great thing about seasons is that they do change!
